Brighton

I´m going to speak about Brighton, which is the place where i spend my holidays every year.

Brighton is a city located on the South coast of Great Britain. It has a population of 480,000 inhabitants and  is about an hour from London by train. Every summer a lot of spanish people go there for study, work or spend their holidays.

Brighton has become my hometown because my uncles lives there so every year i go to stay with them. It´s a place i love because is very interesting and has a lot of things to do and places to visit.

One of my favorite places is the Pier. It´s a kind of fair above the water, there are different shops, playrooms etc ... I usually go with my little cousin and i really enjoy. Most of the workers here are spanish. If you want to have a fun time, you should visit the pier.

Also one of my favorite places are the Pavillion gardens where i always go with my family to spend the morning or the afternoon. It´s a beautiful  and nice place to go if you want to be relaxed. 

    There are more interesting places like the beach, where there are always activities to do, or the Churchill Square Shopping Center where you can buy whatever you want and is on Brighton center.

   But the place i recommend and i prefer  are the laines. These are differents kind of  shops located in the center. Most of them are very interesting and i love them because there are things that are not in Spain. Here i spend most of my time.There are a kind of shop that we do not usually found in Spain. These are thrift shops, the ones which sell clothes in good condition and all the money they raise go to different Charities. I love this kind of shops because is a way to help people.

Brighton is a very interesting place to visit and also to live. I had been in London to many times but i prefer Brighton because is a more relaxed place to live and has better urban environment. I recommend visit this city because is full of charms and you do not get tired of being in it.

What´s in the jar?

During the last weeks we had been working on an english project to support Caritas.

A few weeks ago our english teacher proposed us to divide the class in groups to looked for  information about different charities. Each one had to worked on a charity and thought a way to support it. Every group presented their ideas and after that, we chose the one that support Caritas because we thought that is very important to help people in need. 

We started working on it thinking a fund activity to raise money for the charity. At the end we decided to organize an activity in the play ground called "What´s in the jar?". It consists to guess the exact number of candies that are in the jar, paying 1 euro to participate. The winner will win all the candies from the jar and all the money we raise will be to Caritas. 

Before do it we needed the permission from the principal teacher of the High School. So many people from the class made a formal letter explaining the project and asking for permission. They made an english letter and a spanish one with the support of the spanish teacher Juana Perez. 

The rest of the class had  different responsibilities, for example hanging posters informing about the project across the School, buying the candies, counting them etc ...

Finally we did it on 10 Friday during the break in the play ground. The winner was Paula Ruiz from 4ºA and we raise approximately 100 euros.

I have enjoyed it a lot and i think nowadays is important to support charities so i´m very happy to help supporting one.

My ability

I think that my best ability is playing tennis.

I started playing tennis in Tomares Sports Center because i liked a lot to saw this at TV and i play since i was 7 years. When i started playing i only trained two hours a week, but then i started competing. Now i´m training 7 hours and a half a week in Bernier (Gelves). I´m very happy to stay there because i´m learning a lot.

This year is the first one i´m competing at provincial level. I usually play all the weekends in differents clubs at Seville. In the next month, i will start playing the Andalucian Championships with my club Bernier.


I like practice tennis because a love to do sport and it´s my favorite one.

CHRISTMAS

I´m working in a Christmas project for my english class. I´m going to talk about how i celebrate Christmas.

 On Christmas i always go to Valencia to stay with my family. The 25th of december we usually go to the same restaurant to eat in family. The restaurant is situated in front of the beach, so will we are eating we can se the see.

 Afer lunch we go to my Grandfather´s house. We stay there and we eat some spanish nougatand sweet biscuits. Then my four cousins my brother and me prepare the christmas cards to sing my family for money. This is what we call "El aguinaldo". 

This is how i celebrate Christmas day.

The a team

My group and me have chosen the song call "the a team" because we thought that it have a important message and it tells and interesting story. Now i'm going to put some images related with this song.


In this picture we can see a woman crying maybe because she don't have money or because she don't like her life. The relation to the song is that it speaks about a woman who hate her life and doesn't have any money and for take a little she has to do bad things.

In this picture we can see a prostituting girl. She have to do this kind of things i think because she need money for drugs or things like that. This is a very moving picture because of the situation. The relation to the song is that the woman do things like that to take some money.

What we can see in this picture is cocaine. This is the reason why the woman of the song has to do the things she do, to take drugs. This is a very powerful picture.

Here we can see a dark street on a winter night.This is a very spontaneous photo. The relation to the song is that the woman has to sleep in the street and works on it all the year also in winter when she were so cold.

In this photo we can see a child face with snow on it. Is a powerful photo because is hard to see a child in this situation. It represent the cold of the winter and as we can  see in the child's eyes he or she is very sad, so the woman of the song feel like that.

In the last photo we can see a man living in the street with his dog. It is very spontaneous because nowadays there are more people who has to live in this situation. the relation to the song is that the woman live with the same conditions like him.

Thanks given

I want to say thanks for all the things i have, especially to my parents for the memories i have with them and for being healthy.

 My parents are the people who always support me and stay for all the things i want or i need. They always want the best for me and i thanks them a lot. I have a lot of memories about i was young,and the more important memories i have are with my parents. Those memories are the best i have because i remember that they always try to make me happy.

 I think i'm very healthy, i don't have any kind of disease or anything like that, so nowadays i feel lucky because there are people who can't live a normal life or can't bee happy, maybe because they are always worried about the problems they have. So i also say thanks for being healthy.

 I feel lucky because i think i have a lot of things like family or friends that some people doesn't have. So i say thanks for the live i have in general.

English Project

My project is about Italy. For this project we looked for imformation of this country.

With my group i did a power point with all the important things of Italy like the location, landmarks and food. We did also a menu with recipes of different countries, and we prepared a recipe called four cheese pizza.

The best thing of the project was when we prepared the recipe because we didnt have any problems working in group and it was fun.

I like this project because i learnt how to cook a new recipe and also i learnt new vocabulary. It is a nice experience.
